Volkswagen Group Japan Ltd. pursues realization of the group basic policy to deliver high quality, value-added vehicles to the customer. The head office import center in Toyohashi-Shi in Aichi Prefecture houses the New Vehicle Service Division, the Service Division, the Distribution Division and the Administrative divisions (personnel, accounting, and information systems), while the Tokyo Office houses the Public Relations Division, the Sales Division and the Dealer Development divisions. A single projector covers both the large conference room and the small conference room
- Q.What is the reason you decided to introduce the NP4000?
A.The head office is located in Toyohashi-Shi of Aichi Prefecture, which is suitable for distributing products all over the country, and functions as the domestic largest import center. On the other hand, the Sales Department controls the dealer network throughout the country, and the Marketing Department and the Public Relations Department are concentrated in the Tokyo Office. In the Tokyo Office, real time, efficient collection and transmission of information, examination of sales strategies and tactics are executed. It is required for the conference room in the Tokyo Office to have highly advanced communication functions instead of a simple meeting space. ‘In the conference room, we hold strategic meetings related to the marketing or presentations for our dealers coming from every corner of the country. Contents of the presentations using the projector are mainly prepared with Power Point. Commercial DVDs of new vehicles are also projected sometimes’. (Ms. Kumi Iwase)
Before introducing the NP4000, only one large conference room was available, and the space was constantly occupied. The company, therefore, divided the conference room into two rooms with the movable partitions, and installed the projector on the ceiling and introduced several advanced functions. ‘When selecting the new projector, the most decisive points that we considered were whether a single fixed projector could independently project images on two screens where the throwing distances and sizes are different, and whether the operation of the projector is easy or not. We presented the required conditions and requested a proposal from several companies. Among the submitted proposals, only one foreign manufacturer and NEC satisfied the requirements entirely. However, the overseas manufacturer’s proposal was technically acceptable but the cost was too expensive. Finally, only NEC could satisfy all requirements’. (Mr. Takeo Nakagiri)
Time and labors required for setting the projector can be reduced drastically
- Q.What is your impression of the NP4000 after introduction?

A.The NP4000 is highly appreciated after introduction. ‘It is very convenient that it is not necessary to replace the lens. A single lens is capable of supporting the throwing needs for both the small conference room (80 inches) and the large conference room (120 inches). The projecting position can be shifted vertically and horizontally by operating the remote controller. Zooming and focusing can also be operated with the remote controller. It enjoys a good reputation’. (Ms. Kumi Iwase)
‘In case of the projector that we used previously, projected images were extremely dark, so we had to pull down the blinds of the conference room and turn off the fluorescent lamp. After introducing NEC’s NP4000, it is not necessary to do so’. (Mr. Takeo Nakagiri) It is the visual presentation era based on the IT technology advancing day by day.
