Conventionally, on-campus bulletin boards are for posting paper notices. Thanks to advanced heavy-duty, high-visibility FPD (flat panel display) technology and on-campus network infrastructure, FPD-based bulletin boards are beginning to replace paper-based ones.

An on-campus electronic bulletin board system can offer the following advantages:

• Efficient dissemination of information, only achievable by visually-oriented content that works directly on recipients
• Instantaneous updating of information
• Smooth staff-student communication, which reduces registrar paperwork. A redundancy-free bulletin board, which prevents overfilling of handbills and promotes campus beautification
